I have a great post coming soon – the experience of my First marathon, with official (rather than snipped) photos! Hope you’ll come back soon to read. Since the marathon, it’s been a whirlwind of work with the launch of a report (downloadable here at UNICEF’s new site which I’ve been working on) and a regional meeting in Cape Town being a catalyst to all sorts of other side events I have been managing from New York, so I haven’t had time to really go through one of the best memories I’ll have of my life here on my online journal of running. But I will, and soon. All I can say now is that the week after the marathon, I was indeed walking a little stiff with a swell in my heart of pride that I did it – I ran a real marathon.
And helped launch a report. And coordinated 4 events in Cape Town. And processed some contracts. And….
I just wanted to make a quick note to anyone who happens to check or stumble across my running blog –
First of all, thanks for bothering to view / read!
Second, I haven’t posted in awhile but that doesn’t mean I stopped running! Please check my running log to see what I’ve been doing. I am going to post about the latest race, the Brooklyn Half Marathon, which I earned a new medal and a slightly improved PR, so please check back for that!
And lastly, the reason I haven’t been updating is because….I got a new job!!! I am proud to be a UNICEF staff member now, and although it is so rewarding and extremely meaningful work, it is also quite challenging and has taken a lot of my time both at work and at home trying to de-stress myself from all the new changes and things I need to learn asap.
So that’s that! I’ll be posting again regularly soon!
Luv Running Songs
My current favorite running tune. Intense video.
Love is crazy, love is rough, but love is life…and the other thing.
Running is active mediation for me. My life has gotten relatively stressful over the past few years and running time is my time to think about anything and everything, digest my goals, imagine my dreams, sort out frustrations and confusion, etc. It has been helping me a lot, and I am thankful I have this time. It makes me stronger, better, and helps me to be the best person I can be.
